Oristone mines slate stone in Orivesi Finland. We produce Orivesi Black and Orivesi Brown slates from our own quarry. Our history goes back to 1951 when our first quarry was opened, and we are the oldest still producing slate stone company in Finland. Our main products are dark gray slate stone along with the rustic brown / autumn-colors stone. We offer many different types of stones in example for paths, patios, floors, walls, benches, tables, fireplaces etc. We also crush and screen rocks to make different decorative stone materials. Our mining process is environmentally friendly and efficient as we avail 100% of what we mine. Our main market area is whole Finland but we also export our products. Orivesi slate is very high quality natural stone with good flexural and compressive strenghts. It's not slippery even when it gots wet and it has good qualities with abrasion and frost resistance.
